Florida School Nutrition Association What's In Your Lunch?

What is SWAC?

Student Wellness Advisory Council (SWAC) is a one-of-a-kind program that brings a nutrition and wellness program into schools, where students learn nutrition and wellness information and then teach that information to their peers and other members of their community.  Students take pride and interest in making the food service program more responsive to their needs.

SWAC Goals

  1. Combat the childhood obesity epidemic.
  2. Serve as a communications bridge between students students, administrators, school food service personnel, faculty, and the community.
  3. Help students learn how they can improve their eating patterns and physical activity levels by making small and gradual changes.
  4. Provide opportunities for students to learn how to apply nutrition and wellness to their everyday lives.
